Helping a sister company on SuccessFactors Employee Central. Their onboarding integration is triggered by the 'Rehire' Intelligent Services event, and for rehires it fires twice — so the downstream system creates two records. Single hires are fine. Looks like the rehire is generating both a 'Rehire' and a 'Hire' event, or the same event twice with different effective dates. Anyone seen this?

Request to joinRehire in EC often writes two employment records under the hood (close the old, open the new) and each transaction can raise an event. The fix on our side was to make the downstream integration idempotent on person-id + event-date, so a duplicate event is a no-op. Filtering at the ISC flow is fragile.
Agreed, make the consumer idempotent. We key on user-id + event-type + effective-date and drop anything we've already processed within the last 24h. Trying to dedupe inside Intelligent Services rules turned into whack-a-mole.
Idempotent consumer keyed on person + date. Passing that back to their team. Much better than trying to tame the event side.
